Responsibilities include qualifying new sales opportunities, building a pipeline of prospective customers, and closing lease transactions in our small to medium size customer segment. We are looking for a self-motivated sales professional with a passion for customer service and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment. This position will be based at our Chicago HQ location and reports into the Commercial organization.Job DutiesEstablish and enhance relationships with new and existing small to medium size customersPropose and negotiate lease terms and conditionsWork closely with the Customer Service team to ensure customers needs and expectations are metEffectively use the Salesforce.com CRM tool to manage call reports, opportunities, customer and market informationDevelop and execute a sales business plan that will achieve corporate revenue goals.Critical Job Knowledge and Core Competencies/Skills:Knowledge of the North American rail industry, railcar types and their commodity applicationsUnderstanding of operating lease terms and conditionsAbility to negotiate contract termsExcellent sales ability with a focus on long term relationship building.Excellent communication skills both written and oral.Strong computer skills.Some travel to visit customers and industry conferences requiredExperience5 plus years of comparable or relevant experience in the rail industryStrong knowledge of the Rail sector and ability to discuss market dynamicsExperience with Salesforce.com or comparable CRM preferredThis is a general description of the Duties, Responsibilities and Qualifications required for this position.
