This position is located in the Chicago, IL area.

• 25% to 35% Travel EstimateStructural Engineer Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to the Infrastructure Engineering Center, for accomplishment of project engineering packages.
  • Prepare summary trip reports within two working days of trip completion.
  • Compile and complete project documents.
  • Provide technical engineering support for all phases of assigned new construction and renovation projects (i.e. evaluate shop drawings, design proposals, and interpret the technical requirements for adherence to contract documents).
  • Participate in Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) on all assigned projects and provide recommended resolutions on all items relating to engineering.
  • Perform engineering studies for feasibility and cost versus benefit.
  • Provide technical input to the Government Technical Interpreter in actions to plan, budget, program, and coordinate the development of engineering projects.
  • Develop project drawings in accordance with the FAA Standard/guidelines.Structural Engineer Required Qualifications:
    • Civil Engineering Degree (B.S.) OR similar. Minimum 4 years with Structural Engineering Design and experience with tower, shelter, and similar structure projects. OR a Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
    • Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities.
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder OR working in the USA with a temporary protected status (TPS) visa who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with No breaks OR leaving the country. One must be able to show documentation of proof once asked by security or the FAA.Structural Engineer Preferred Qualifications:
      • Proficiency in AUTOCAD.
      • Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Tower (NASET).
      • Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Building (NASEB).
      • Knowledge of Corporate Work Plan (CWP) 4.1.12.
      • Knowledge of Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), power, general building construction techniques, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), fire detection, security, site work.Please Note: The program budget salary for this role could fall anywhere between $100,000 to $110,000 with a slight wiggle room to go up based on relevant experience and assessment.
