Product Manager, Restaurant Development supports the Technical
Product Management leadership in technical / IT related delivery
topics (e.g., trade-offs in implementation approaches, tech stack
selection) and provides technical mentorship for developers / squad
members improving custom and third-party solutions that support
MCD's ability to select and build new sites. Leads the output
(quality and efficiency) of external vendor squads to ensure they
are delivering to the standards required by McD. Participate in
roadmap and backlog preparation. Builds and maintains technical
process flows and solution architecture diagrams on Product level.
Leads acceptance criteria creation and validation of development
work. Supports hiring and development of engineers. This position
reports to the Sr. Technical Product Manager - Restaurant
Development & Operations.Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Restaurant Development Product roadmap and backlog
preparation
- In partnership with the TPM, participate in roadmap and backlog
prioritization, providing technical perspectives towards
translating Epic into user stories for the Develop team to work on,
as well as backlog grooming process
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive product strategy and
roadmap.
- Collaborating with collaborators to gather and analyze
requirements.
- Prioritizing features and functionality based on business value
and market demand.
- Participating in an Agile development environment and ensuring
successful product delivery
- Agile ceremonies
- Attend all product team ceremonies and function as leader of
the Software Development Engineers
- Technical solutioning and feature development / releases:
- Accountable for the deployment of new features including QA,
push to production and defect remediation. Ensure code development
meets architectural, quality, and security standards.
- Maintain documentation standards for all software and lead
acceptance criteria validation of development work.
- Ensure product delivery is done to a high standard with high
performance while considering latency, scalability, extensibility,
and security.
- Management of software developers
- Oversee the output (quality and efficiency) of external vendor
squads to ensure delivery meets McD standards. Manages the daily
activities of the developers through daily scrum calls.
- Continuous Improvement and Feedback
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement by soliciting
feedback from customers, internal stakeholders, and team
members.
- Use feedback to iterate on the product roadmap, prioritize
improvements, and drive product innovation over
time.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or 6+
years confirmed experience. Master's degree a plus.
- 8+ years of software development experience, with knowledge of
Agile software development process including application of Agile
techniques and delivery practices and promoting adoption of Agile
methodologies to secure dedicated approach in product teams.
- Experience working on technical teams that lead critical
products and/or a suite of products.
- Proficiency with Agile tools such as JIRA
- Agile Certification - Leading SAFE or equivalent are
preferred.
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain
sophisticated technical decisions to non-technical team
members.
- Smartsheet experience is a plus
- Proven record of managing and leading top tier SDE's
- Highly expert working collaboratively with business partners to
drive outcomes and solve sophisticated technical challenges.
- Outstanding understanding of latest development
technologies
- Strong innovation skills to identify, develop, and make
improvements to techniques, procedures, services, or products.
- Familiar partnering with customers across an at-scale,
sophisticated, global org setup
- Strong positive thinking skills that includes creating a safe
environment to learn, challenge, accept risk taking and a
