That includes everything from credit assessment and terms decisioning, to invoicing and payment processing, to servicing, collections and cash application. This allows our partners to focus on delighting their customers and growing their business. - As a Director of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for driving our tech transformation across our customer and partner experiencesYou will:

• Lead, manage and grow multiple teams of product focused software engineers
• Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team
• Work with product leaders to define the strategy, roadmap and destination architecture
• Manage a portfolio of diverse technology platforms and projects to build scalable applications that meet our customer needs
• -Continuously improve software engineering practices
• Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box - thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversityBasic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 7 years' experience in software development
  • At least 5 years' experience in people management
  • At least 5 years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Python, Golang
  • At least 3 years of experience in public cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree
    • 10+ years' of experience in software development
    • 4+ years of experience with AWS

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.Chicago, IL: $239,900 - $273,800 for Director, Software Engineering -McLean, VA: $263,900 - $301,200 for Director, Software Engineering - - - - - - - - -Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
