Job Description:
Temperature Control Systems (a division of Kele Companies), a
multi-branch, nationwide distributor of commercial/industrial HVAC
controls, burner/boiler controls and building automation systems,
is in search of a Controls Applications Technical Support Engineer
to program equipment controllers, controls projects, and provide
application and product selection support, technical expertise, and
training to both internal and external customers in the building
automation industry.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides application and product selection support.
- Conduct material take-offs from project mechanical
prints/specifications.
- Creates quotes and estimates for products and solutions.
- Facilitates technical sales and end user presentations.
- Provides product and application technical support and
training.
- Serves as a primary resource for product questions and product
application information for internal and external customers.
- Programs equipment controllers and provides start-up assistance
for new customers.
- Development of software library.
- Conducts new product testing and vetting.
- Investigates problems, develops solutions, and makes
recommendations on supported automation products.
- Creates custom program modules in Niagara N4 and other
supported commercial controls products.
- Attends, develops, constructs, and records training sessions
and maintains technical proficiency on all issues that are
applicable to our customers and industry.
- Visits customer job sites, conducting walk-throughs in order to
view existing components and recommend functional
replacements.
- Administers the product warranty/returns process.Qualification
Requirements:
- Undergraduate/bachelor's degree and applicable certification(s)
or an Associates Degree in a related technical field with 7 years
of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC
industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature
controls, building automation systems and other building
subsystems.
- Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage
building sub-systems using various industry protocols (i.e. LON,
BACnet, Modbus, etc).
- Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical
audience.
- Demonstrated advanced computer skills required, particularly
computer-related drafting tools.Additional Requirements:
- Industry experience in multi-vendor DDC control products and
communication protocols.
- Advanced knowledge of IT network principles for DDC
systems.
- Niagara N4 certification or the ability to become certified
within 6 months of employment.
- Honeywell WEBS and Johnson Controls FX certification preferred
but not required.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record for limited
travel as needed.
