Job Description:
As a Senior Business Development Manager with Convera, based in
our Chicago office (Hybrid, 2-3 days a week), you will be
responsible for building a pipeline of Small-to-Medium-Sized
Enterprises (SME) and Corporate customers (e.g., import/export
companies, multinational companies, etc.) and achieving new
business revenue objectives through enabling our partners to grow
and manage their international payments service and hedging needs.
You will focus on growing Convera's customer footprint, with a
particular focus on SME and Corporate customers.In your role as
Senior Business Development Manager, you will:
- Conduct initial prospecting activities within the SME and
Corporate sector, identifying and engaging new prospects through
proactive outreach and attending industry networking events.
- Tailor prospecting efforts to geographical allocation and
industry specialization, focusing on targeted regional areas
incorporating SME and Corporate clients.
- Maintain and develop knowledge across specific industries or
regions as a subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide tailored solutions
for clients and articulate how our products and services can best
solve their challenges.
- Stay informed about the FX market, compliance and legislative
requirements, and the broader business/economic landscape to
enhance your ability to meet and anticipate client
requirements.
- Utilize internal relationship teams and relevant management to
close sales opportunities.
- Identify and develop key referral partnerships and
relationships with associated organizations, partners, and advisors
of prospective clients.
- Manage new customers through the transition stage to our
dealing desk while attracting new business.You will ideally have:
- B2B sales experience (4 years +), preferably with exposure to
the Foreign Exchange (FX) or payments industry.
- If no exposure to the Foreign Exchange industry, candidates
with sales experience in the broader financial services sector will
be considered.
- Understanding of consultative sales principles and adeptness at
executive corporate-level negotiations and building long-term
client relationships.
- Independent self-starter with a tenacious approach to new
business acquisition.
- Ability to work autonomously while liaising with internal
account managers to effectively manage customer relationships.
- Established networks in regional markets, industry verticals,
and associated customer influencers.
- Highly self-motivated and confident, with high integrity and
tenacity to outperform the competition.
- Contribution to a positive team environment and embrace of
diversity.
- Fluent English, with excellent communication/presentation
skills across all media, as well as proficiency in technology
(e.g., MS Office, web conferencing, reporting tools, and sales
automation platforms such as Salesforce).
- Financially astute with knowledge of business needs/concerns
and the commercial impact of global news and events.
- Degree level or above preferred or significant professional
